Pharos Print Desktop Application

The Pharos Print desktop app (previously called the Secure Release desktop app) is a desktop application installed with the Print Scout or macOS Scout that allows end users to do the following on their workstations:

• View documents waiting to print - The Pharos Print desktop app gives end users the chance to see documents waiting to be released, and allows them to clean up the list before they walk up to a printer. This tool is particularly useful when printers are secured with the Sentry SR25 hardware for print release. The SR25 does not leverage the printer’s user interface, so users would have no opportunity to delete specific jobs from their queue before releasing their print jobs.
• Delete documents that they no longer need
• View activity history
• Reset PIN code
• Reset Passcode
• Switch locations (if Location Switcher is configured)
• Change Data Privacy Regions

The Pharos Print desktop app also provides the following features:

• Secure Print Failover (Offline Print). Available only if enabled
• Direct Print (if licensed).
• Print-at-Home Requires Direct Print license.
• Delegate Print

The right click context menu also allows administrators to perform the following tasks:

• Enable Auto-Delegate

• Set Workstation Location

• Configuration (use to switch tenant locations)

• Register a Mobile Device

• Register a Proximity Card

• Open User Portal

Launching the Pharos Print desktop app

Microsoft Windows

Launch the Pharos Print desktop app on Windows, from the task notification area (i.e. system tray area) located at the right end of your screen. Click the Pharos Print desktop app icon to launch the app.

macOS

In the menu bar (at the top of the screen), select the Pharos Print desktop app icon.
